A Five Minute Thunk…

“Is love an invention created by humans?”

Hmmmmmmmmmm…

**Brain-Fart Incoming**

Definitions of Invention:

  1. Something (a process or object) created that has not been created before.

  2. Creative ability (ie. the powers of his invention were limited).

  3. Used as a title for a certain type of baroque music (ie. Bach’s two part inventions.)

Definitions of Created:

  1. Bring something into existence.

  2. Cause something to happen as a result of one’s actions.

  3. (Of an actor) originate a role by playing a character for the first time.

  4. Invest someone with a title of nobility (ie. created a Baron)

With all these definitions, we have 12 different combinations of possible sentences. To make it easier to write, I’ll type in the numbers of each definition.

  1. “Is love an invention (1.) created (1.) by humans?”

  2. “Is love an invention (1.) created (2.) by humans?”

  3. “Is love an invention (1.) created (3.) by humans?”

  4. “Is love an invention (1.) created (4.)  by humans?”

  5. “Is love an invention (2.) created (1.) by humans?”

  6. “Is love an invention (2.) created (2.) by humans?”

  7. “Is love an invention (2.) created (3.) by humans?”

  8. “Is love an invention (2.) created (4.) by humans?”

  9. “Is love an invention (3.) created (1.) by humans?”

  10. “Is love an invention (3.) created (2.) by humans?”

  11. “Is love an invention (3.) created (3.) by humans?”

  12. “Is love an invention (3.) created (4.) by humans?”

Let’s look at a few of the interesting ones under the context of the question…

Number 3: Is love a character never made before by a actor/human? In a metaphor, well, possibly yes! Say that love was a character in some abstract play or fable (like Death in JK Rowling’s ‘Tales of Beetle the Bard.’) being played by an actor for the first time then the answer could be ‘yes,’ despite being very improbable.

Number 6: Is love a creative ability event brought about by humans? What a wonderfully random question! I would have to say no, the concept (or word at that) of love is not a creative ability event brought about by humans. But if there really was a Creative Ability Event called ‘Love,’ please invite me! On the other hand, it could be a highly improbable situation again…

Number 12: Is love a piece of baroque music created nobility by humans? A question that I do not think I will ever be asked in the entirety of my life! Here’s another highly improbable situation: ‘Love’ is an Invention written by a baroque composer which is considered (and ‘created’) nobility in the music world by musical humans, then yes!

So, in short, yes (and no) love can be an invention created by humans. While one may have to look through several odd definitions to find answers without going through tricky scientific and philosophical answers, we are still able to supply opinion on questions like this. Thinking outside of the box one can make questions such as this very entertaining. How was that for a brain fart?
